The Organisers

This workshop is being organised by Ros Williams and Amy Hinterberger.

Ros is based in the Sociology Department at the University of Warwick. Her research interests sit between STS and the sociologies of race and ethnicity. Her current research is on the banking of clinical use stem cells in a UK context, and the mobilisation of health equity discourses to encourage donation from black and minority ethnicity individuals. Her most recent publication, with Nik Brown at York, focuses on the internationalised context of ostensibly ‘public’ stem cell exchange.

Amy is an Assistant Professor in the Sociology Department at the University of Warwick. Her principal research interest is at the intersection of the social and life sciences, particularly on bioscientific research and its governance. Much of her work is concerned with the intersections between changing understandings of biological heredity, contemporary multiculture and the expansion of genome science in the twenty-first century.
